Not in the House, Newton!
Published in School & Library Binding by Clarion Books (October, 1995)
Average review score:

My sons favorite bookI started taking my son to the library when he was 1 years old. I would set him on the floor and read to him. Now that he is 4 years he goes with me to the library and he picks out his own books. He always picks this one out, he likes me to read it over & over again. Its very colorful and the book almost comes alive. Its a fun book to read.
This book sparks creativity and can be a great teaching toolI am an Elementary Literacy Resource Teacher, and I often recommend this book to teachers who are working with their students on color words. What better way for children to learn about the color red than to imagine everything they draw with their red crayon coming to life! This can spark much creativity in children's writing, whether independently or dictated to their teacher. A must for every Kindergarten and First Grade classroom.
A GREAT STORY!I am a children's librarian and use this book in story hour programs for children age 3 - 6. Everytime I read it a child always comments, "What a great story." I have also used it at a local day care center and the children always ask me to bring it next time because they want to hear it again. It is one of the few books that I have read that made me want to write to the author to tell her how much I enjoyed reading the book. She offers the readers the possibility of the impossible and what a gift that is.

Oh, Baby!
Published in Hardcover by Grosset & Dunlap (June, 1999)
Average review score:

first and bestThis was the first book we bought our grandson, when he was only 3 months old, and the mobile caught his attention right away. He's now 17 months and it's still his favorite book, along with 'Night Night Baby'...he loves the combination of the baby faces and the touchable interactive features.
My son's pick everytime! My son received this book as a gift when he was about a month old. It's hard to imagine a book that attracts the attention of a one month old, but this one did! The moveable mobile has wonderful contrasts that caught his eye when he was tiny, and now that he is 14 months old, he loves to grab onto the mobile (it has withstood some serious abuse and has never ripped off!). Same thing with the "mirror" page - he could see light flickering in the mirror when he was a young infant and now that he is older, he loves to see his own face smiling back at him. We have about 150 children's books in our home and this one is definitely in the group of about 10 books that my son continually selects. I had never heard of this book before we got it, but now I recommend it to everyone.
Captivating for little eyes and handsI was given a copy of Oh, Baby! by the author because my then two year old is featured in this book. My daughter, however, had absolutely no interest in her picture, but continually enjoyed the page where she could lift the cardboard door surprising everyone with the puppy displayed behind it. This book features many interactive pages from the satin feel of a blanket to the fuzzy pom-pom on the front of the book. The daughter of a coworker actually bought this book while on vacation and returned to tell me how her children loved this book. She initially had no idea of my daughter's involvement with this book prior to purchasing it herself. I would recommend this entertaining book to anyone who would like to begin reading to their child at a young age. The pages are kept to a simple sentece per page and the book is interactive for the child to enjoy while being read to.

remember foreverThis book is definately one of my favorite, and I know I will never forget it. Jenny Nimmo makes you get drawn into the book, and you feel like you are living it. it is a great adventure, has mystery, magic, and people you can relate to. you get so caught up in the book, you can't wait to see what will happen next. This is definataly one of the best books in the world, as far as I am concerned.
Orchard of the Crescent MoonThe author again combines fantasy elements with the growth of her imagination to weave solid entertainment. This book has many wonderful elements of magic and mystery, and unusual plotting and events. A very great story. Anyone could enjoy this incredible book by Jenni Nimmo.

The Overnight Groom (Harlequin American Romance, 787)
Published in Paperback by Harlequin (August, 1999)
Average review score:

A true delight to behold!Elizabeth Sinclair has delivered a wonderful romance in her latest release, "The Overnight Groom." This delightful tale is fun, heartwarming and, at times, downright moving. While her main characters of Grant and Katie shine, it's Sinclair's secondary cast that keeps the action fun and moving. Harriet, the goodhearted boss' wife and Lizzie, Katie's eccentric mother, are adorable meddlers. As true love conquers all, "The Overnight Groom" is a true delight to behold.
An unusual twist on much loved storylineI read this book in one sitting. The characters were wonderful, especially the heroine's mother, Lizzie. We all should have a mother like her! She gives us great insight to what motivates a woman to marry and divorce many times. Elizabeth Sinclair, with her usual style and grace, tapped into a second-chance story and then twisted it all up beautifully. The outcome was a really enjoyable read--and a hope that she brings Lizzie back in another book!!!
Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant jump off the pagesGrant and Katie ARE Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn. The repartee is sparkling. The timing and pacing is brilliant. Remember THE PHILADELPHIA STORY with Kate and Cary? The same fast-paced romantic comedy style. A must read!

Parrots, Macaws and Cockatoos: The Art of Elizabeth Butterworth
Published in Paperback by Harry N Abrams (September, 1994)
Average review score:

"For the Parrot & Art Lover Both"This is an oversized book of vividly colored line-drawings of the Cockatoo, Macaw, and Amazon parrots species. It's a truly magnificently produced book with Elizabeth Butterworth's beautiful artistic drawings that are just so realistic. You could actually frame many of these drawings, they are that good. There's a wonderful introduction about all these parrots by Elizabeth that is inspirational. If you're a lover of birds, or have companion parrots yourself, don't miss this book.
ExcellentOne of the best bird drawings I have seen, they are so well done, that one wishes to frame each one of the them, if you like birds and you like colour this book is for you.
Parrots, MacAws and Cockatoos : The Art of Elizabeth ButterwIf you are a lover of cockatoo, macaw and amazon, the line-drawings of these birds will take your breath away. When I first opened the book, I gasped! Ms. Butterworth has captured the essence of their character, even more so than a photograph. The line-drawings in this book deserve to be framed and showcased in a prominent position in your home. I bought 3 books. I framed pictures from the first, and kept the second for reference, and gave the third book as a gift to Dr. Bernadette Plair who is with the Cincinnati Zoo. Dr. Plair recently (March 2000), successfully reintroduced the blue and gold macaw back into the wild in Trinidad.

DAUGHTERS OF LIBERTY, BOOK 1, GOOD TRILOGY!There is something different about this trilogy. They are hard to find in bookstores, but I highly recommend them. This is just plain GOOD storytelling. Very well written. Read all 3! It's worth it! After this book comes "Patsy and the Declaration", and then "Barbara's Escape", which is about her best friend. The character's name obviously comes from the author's sister, also named Barbara.
Cool book about long ago,This book was about two girls Barabara and Patsy who live Long Ago during Colonial Days. Patsy's dad owns a tavern where Barbara's family works. The two are friends and make plans for a secret club called "Daughters of Liberty." Read this book to learn more!
Great book! This book is about Patsy Black, a young girl growing up in her family's inn/tavern in Philadelphia during the American Revolution. Patsy and her best friend, Barbara Leyman, start a club called the Daughters of Liberty to help America win its independence. READ THIS BOOK!

The Petaybee Trilogy: Powers That Be/Power Lines/Power Play

Average review score:

great set of books, some of the best i've read.i found these books to be great. very descriptive and worth reading agin. anne mccaffery is wonderful writer that deserves praise. works of art.
Marina Sirtis is an excellent choice to read this trilogy.I'm a great fan of McCaffery, and I like this series second behind the Dragonriders. Marina Sirtis reads it well, a bit hypnotically in spots. I can't tell if its abridged or not. These tapes are great in the car. They keep the kids quiet even on short runs.
These books are a great read!I have all three of these books and can only hope that there will be more. Once again we are taken into yet another realm of fantasy by one of the genre's most skilled & talented authors.
